FORELAND

After 13 years living in New York City, Stef Halmos embarked on a large-scale arts development in Catskill, NY, now known as Foreland. On behalf of a family partnership, she spearheaded the acquisition of three historic mill buildings in 2017 and spent the next six years as the boots-on-the-ground developer. The buildings that comprise the Campus were painstakingly stabilized, restored and re-imagined. Today, Foreland boasts 34 artist studios, commercial galleries, f&b spaces, coworking, and two private event venues.

Stef Halmos has a BFA from Miami University, (2006) and an MFA from California College of the Arts (2012). Her work has been shown at various museums and galleries internationally. She currently exercises her creative energy designing functional objects as part of a forthcoming business, to be named at a later date.
